‘Will You Marry Me?’ seeks inspiration from ‘How I Met Your Mother’

 

The romcom might have original one-liners, but the poster? Well, that’s a different story…

At first look, the bathroom poster of Will You Marry Me? appears to be slick and stylish. But the moment of awe lasts only till you chance upon a similar-looking poster of How I Met Your Mother. Ahem, ahem. Looks like here’s another Bollywood poster that’s been copied from…oops… inspired by something foreign. But hold your guns, this time the source is new! While we’ve heard of, read, discussed and criticised a lot of posters that have been ‘inspired’ from Hollywood movies, the filmmakers of Will You Marry Me?  have stumbled across a brand new source of inspiration – sitcoms. Yawn….seriously?

In times when some Bollywood posters are back-tracking to the times of hand-painted pictures, there are others that just can’t let go of the habit of seeking inspiration from foreign prints. And if this trend continues, it won’t be long before we see B-town actors peeping out from a poster of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Sigh!
