Adhyayan-Giselle in Shekhar Suman's Heartless

For those who felt that Shekar Suman's son Adhyayan Suman had done the vanishing act, the news is that he is back with a remake of the Hollywood hit medical thriller Awake. To be titled Heartless, the film will mark the directorial debut of Shekhar Suman and will have Giselle Monteiro, who will be playing Jessica's part in the film.

Adhyayan, who is really excited to work with Giselle, is slated to play Hayden Christensen's part in the adaptation. The filmmakers are in touch with the Weinstein Company to buy the rights of the original film to avoid any copyright issues later on. While the famous Page 3 writer Nina Arora has been working on the script and the screenplay, Niranjan Iyengar has written the dialogues. Adhyayan, who has just wrapped up shooting for Milind Ukey's Dehradun Diaries, added that the film supposed to start last year, but got stalled. Now they are waiting for Nina's new draft of the script.

Bollywood News John arrested and later released on bail

On October 14, 2010 the Metropolitan Magistrate's Court at Bandra convicted John Abraham with rash driving in 2006 case in which two people were injured. John was subsequently sentenced to 15 days imprisonment. The case was when the actor's bike skid, injuring two people, whom he even dutifully took to the hospital.

Though in 2010 he was granted bail the same day post filing an appeal in the Sessions Court against the conviction stating that the judge had misconstrued and had, without applying the principles relating to the acts of rashness and criminal negligence, convicted the applicant. Today the Sessions Court upheld the verdict convicting John to a 15-day jail term for rash driving.

Joy Mukherjee passes away

Yesteryears' actor Joy Mukhejee, who was ailing at Mumbai's Lilavati hospital, breathed his last today at 1 pm IST. He was 73 years old and was suffering from respiratory problems.

Joy Mukherjee made his acting debut in 1960 with Love In Simla. Post that he became popular with films like Shagird, Love In Tokyo, Bahu Beti, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Ek Musafir Ek Hasina, Puraskar, and Hum Hindustani.

Sanjay Gupta gets bail on controversial invite case

Director Sanjay Gupta, the maker of films like Kaante etc, ironically (almost) got himself pricked by the thorns of the law and order, due to the (in)famous media invite of his film Shootout At Wadala. After all the running around, Gupta heaved a big sigh of relief after he was granted anticipatory bail by the Bombay High Court on Wednesday in the cheating and forgery case that was registered against him by the Versova police. Gupta was released on a bail of Rs 10,000 on the condition that he writes a letter of apology to the Commissioner and that he should immediately withdraw the invite from the website.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag commences shoot today

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag based on the life of world famous athlete Milkha Singh is all set to go on floors today. Announced with much fanfare, Prasoon Joshi and Rakeysh Mehra have been working on the script for almost a year. The film stars Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles.

Rakyesh Mehra and his team have been searching for a perfect location to start shooting and after visiting almost all towns of Punjab they have shortlisted Firozpur to commence their first schedule from today.

Ahem, ahem. Looks like here’s another Bollywood poster that’s been copied from…oops… inspired by something foreign. But hold your guns, this time the source is new! While we’ve heard of, read, discussed and criticised a lot of posters that have been ‘inspired’ from Hollywood movies, the filmmakers of Will You Marry Me?  have stumbled across a brand new source of inspiration – sitcoms. Yawn….seriously?

Last week we brought to you the first look of Yash Chopra’s film starring Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. We have a few more glimpses from one of the most-anticipated romantic tales, which reunites the filmmaker who makes the best romantic tales with the actor who does the best job of a lover. We bet all eyes are eagerly awaiting this one to see if Yash Chopra and SRK’s combination can still create the same magic they did in Veer-Zaara. Also, while SRK and Katrina definitely make a pretty picture together, we don’t see any crackling chemistry between the two gorgeous actors. Besides, don’t they remind us of characters from their respective past films? SRK looks like an older version of Raj from his first big blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and Kat bears close resemblance to her avatar from Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, especially in the short dress and guitar in hand. Robbery at Divya Dutta's house

A robbery took place at actress Divya Dutta's house in Juhu on Saturday night and the actress has lost jewellery worth Rs. 2.5 lakh. Surprisingly, Divya and her mom were at home sleeping but couldn't hear a thing.

When they woke up the next morning they were surprised to find the house in a mess with all gold jewellery missing. Apparently, the building where Divya stays is under repair with bamboo scaffolding around it which could have provided easy access for the robbers.
